This was a really cute, easy craft and both kids just loved doing it, and I liked that as per usual, I had everything handy in the house to do it. Material needed are coffee filters, (ha, no doubt I have a cupboard full of these) pipecleaners, (you could use twist ties) and food coloring.
1. Mix dye into a little bit of water, not too much, you don’t want it too diluted.
2. Take a spoon, dip it in, and let the drops fall onto the coffee filter, the kids will love watching how it spreads throughout the filter with just those little drops.
3. When you are done with the food coloring, let the filter dry.
4. When its dry, fold in half, and cut through the layers halfways up, take a pipe cleaner, and tie it in the middle of the coffee filter, to make two “wings” on either side. Then make antennae out of the two ends of the pipecleaner. Voila, adorable!
