Nutriset Company: Dedicated to Humanitarianism

When I was looking up Peanut butter (because I am odd, and randomly look up stuff like that so I can write about peanut butter. Who writes about stuff like that I ask?) I found the makes of Plumpy’nut, which I have heard of before as a nutritional supplement for malnourished children, but I have never looked into the company that made the product that has saved thousands of lives. Nutriset is a company devoted to populations at risk for malnutrion, I think, is an appropriate way to sum it up. I am sure they make their money as well, but all their products are geared towards humanitarian efforts, which in my books is an A+. I did read that they keep themselves funded by reinvesting their net profits, and was founded in 1986 by Michel Lescanne, a food engineer who was  involved in humanitarian programmes for years.

Nutriset’s mandate is to facilitate the access and the availability of products designed for the enhancement of the nutritional status of children and other vulnerable people.
To fulfill this mandate, we chose to work with stakeholders who lead humanitarian or social programmes commit to the following:

Loyalty to our initial commitment
Respect of humanitarian ethics
Continued research to develop products adapted to the needs of  populations at risk
Reinvestment of our net profit into the company in order to finance our objectives
Participation in scientific research programmes targeting malnutrition
The guarantee of sustainability, regularity and security in our supplies
Always striving towards a better nutrition
