About
Thesupermom.com came about one day when I was looking to improve my personal blog, as the amount of things I like to blog about are massive, and Blogger not so adept at handling them. I love blogging. When searching for website names that were available, I was astonished to see that this one was available. But the term “super mom” is one that is not usually used to describe a good mom, it is used derisively in fact, to describe what we might call “attempting to overachieve in the area of motherhood.” (ah, you like that political correctness there? Don’t get used to it *winks*)
I didn’t hesitate a moment to use it. I am so tired of the assumption that in order to be a Super Mom, your house has to be spotless, your kids have to be always happy and you’re June-freakin’- Cleaver greeting your mate at the door.
I consider myself and the countless other fantastic moms I know Super Moms. We like to spend time with our children, do crafts, get outdoors and dirty with them having adventures, and try to do our best. My house isn’t always clean (better not speak for others on this matter), dinner isn’t always ready on time, and I am never a complete paragon of patience and virtue with my kids. But I love them to the moon and back, and love *most* of my minutes with them.
And I promise you will never see me “attempting to overachieve in the area of motherhood.” (that would mean I would at the minimum have to clean my house often. As if.)
Love,
Karlynn
