Children’s DVD Review: Shaun The Sheep

shaun

Shaun the Sheep is a spin-off of the much beloved Wallace and Gromit franchise and I must admit that I like it even better! Luckily for adults, this is one show that you want to sit and enjoy with your kids instead of being annoyed by toddlerese chatter aimed towards young ones.

This DVD is hilarious. I actually hadn’t watched any Shaun the Sheep DVD’s before, but enjoyed Wallace and Gromitt to no end. Shaun the Sheep is hilarious, I found myself laughing out loud at parts.

It is so thoroughly entertaining for kids that my children watched it 3 times back to back on a 3 hour road trip with my husband, laughing at all the same places every time, sometimes even starting to giggling before the action happened, since they knew what comedy was coming.

The humor includes a certain farmers body part being flashed to the sheep, or an aliens spaceship being fueled by sheep, er, “bi-products” but at 4 and 6 my children think that bottoms and sheep poop are the funniest things on this planet.

Ok, I found it hilarious too.

The episodes include:

  • The Visitor
  • The Bull
  • Hiccups
  • Bitzer Outs His Foot In It
  • Save The Tree and
  • Shaun Encounters

The length of the DVD is 35 minutes, which is perfect for a quick TV treat or break for parents.
