prometheus Childrens Book Review: The Prometheus Project: Stranded

The third book in the acclaimed Prometheus series, Stranded continues on the same excellent science fiction vein as the others. I have reviewed the other two books, Trapped and Captured and was very excited to review the next in the series.

The story opens with Ryan and Regan being given the surprise of their lives; they are being taken on an excursion to an alien planet. Unfortunately, they are stranded on the planet due to deception and deceit. Adventures unfold, problems are solved and as usual, the family works together as a team.

Like the other two books in the series, the book is incredibly well written, fast paced and packs a hearty scientific punch. The science interwoven with the story is seamless as usual, making what could be a dull classroom lesson a fantastic reading journey instead. Given the choice, I know that most kids would rather learn, and in fact learn far better through a reading experience that entangles their little minds in the story.

You don’t actually have to read the first two books in the series to enjoy this one, the background is explained readily enough and it can stand alone as a single book to enjoy. However, I do think that one should read the other two first, the series remains one of my favorites and is my top choice for introducing your older child to the science fiction genre.
