Children’s Book Review: The Little Leaf

What a lovely story this is, simply just a lovely story. Obviously I read a lot of children’s books from every genre and even though I enjoy them all, not all are simply just a lovely story.

The little leaf in the story has heard about “Christmas” and being a curious little leaf is determined to hang onto his branch long enough to see what it is. We follow his through the seasons, through the holidays such as the 4th of July, Halloween and Thanksgiving. Wonderful illustrations accompany the story, showing us the world from Little Leaf’s tree high view.

Little Leaf does get to finally see Christmas, and drifts off to sleep for the winter. I wouldn’t consider this a Christmas book at all, but it does fit into the season. I thought it a great book to read in the spring as that is where we first meet Little Leaf.

Great story. Great illustrations. I liked the idea that it could be a Christmas book but it is really not. A story for all seasons. You really pull for the “ittle leaf”.
