Children’s Book Review: The Lego Book

Raise your hand if you have played with Lego at one point in your life.

That would probably be 98% of you reading this.

Now though, raise your hand if you have stepped on your children’s Lego at least once.

Ah, now we have reached 100%!

Lego Lego Lego, we love you. Our vacuums loathe your, our feet hurt from you, but thank you for the hours of entertainment you provide our children with. Oh and us adults too. I love sitting with my children and building Lego.

And making them clean it up.

And so I love this book. The only thing I disagree with is the rating of 18+ that was given, this book has enthralled my 6 year old. He is an advanced reader, so I think if a child has a good grasp on reading they also will enjoy it. There is a lot of text to be found mixed in with the pictures detailing the history of Lego.

And it appeals to adults as well for certain; while visiting the chiropractor my son read this book perched on a chair waiting for me,and my chiropractor ended up looking through the book with him and talking Lego by the end of the session. It brings out the child in all of us.

It is a double set including the book called Standing Small, a celebration of 30 years of the Lego minifigure.  This was my favorite, it has all the wonderful little characters that Lego has produced, from soldiers to Harry Potter.

For the Lego Lover, this book is a must have!
