hemo Childrens Book Review: Hemophobula the Wannabe Vampire

Oh Hemophobula. How cute, disastrous and entertaining you are. Who has ever heard of a vampire who faints at the slightest drop of blood? Well, now we have, thanks to the hilarious antics of this tiny 3 foot tall, buck toothed vampire. One can only become more fond of him the more you read, he’s not a very good vampire, he has allergies and has sneezing attacks in coffins, and worst of all; he eats garlic.

Hemophobula attends the school of Sukaurblood Academy, and is taught by the ever so pitiless Miss Fangloosa. All the little Dracula wannabe’s attend the academy, and their greatest hope is to become exactly like their hero, the great count Dracula. Classes are taught on how to sleep in a coffin, how to avoid being struck by stakes, and how to turn into bats.

I think we can all guess how Hemophobula fares in all these adventures, which only add to the hilarity. Throw in some witty word play, bloody humor and a wonderful felt puppet to go along with the story, and you have a sure fire winner!
