What an excellent book for those interested in the history of music and the famous musicians behind the songs and symphonies. Even those who aren’t interested in “studying” the topic per se, can’t help but be drawn into the book which is full of the most recognizable names in musical history, from Bach to Bernstein, Dvorak to Dylan.
The accompanying CD full of 21 tracks featuring some of the classical musicians the book covers was a great touch, I listened to it while at work and I must say we all enjoyed it.
The book itself is a veritable wealth of information, full of facts, photos and wonderful illustrations. Most of the content covers the classical masters, who were musical innovators, but it does cover a few more modern artists such as the Beatles, Bob Dylan and Michael Jackson.
