Frankie is a real life dachshund who ruptured a disk while staying in a kennel. Her owners did not give up on her and after surgery that gave her small odds of walking again, fit the dog with a cart for her back legs.
And so the stories were born.
This first of two books in the series details what happened to Frankie, the following surgery, health issues and recovery. Children will find it amazing and entertaining that she walks with the help of a cart and not only that, it helps children learn empathy for animals, and toelrance for others that are different than us.
It is truly a touching story and there isn’t an adult eye that won’t be tearing up reading this for the first time.
There is a second book in the series that I will be reviewing shortly.
