Children’s Book Review: Evolution Revolution

From Darwin to DNA, proclaims the subtitle, and so the book does go. It covers the earliest days of Darwin and his theories to the newest information available about evolution.

Starting with the stories of creation from various religions then moving on to the debate and challenges of the religious claims of the earth’s beginnings, the book covers the area in a very unbiased manner. Which is important when tackling a subject that does not usually mesh with religion in the slightest.

The facts are presented in an era-by-era way, focusing on different theories that abounded when scientists tried to tackle the theory of evolution. Darwin, of course, had the biggest and most famous epiphany, but there were many others who contributed to the evolution theories.

This is the perfect starter book on evolution for young readers; humor is interspersed with facts, entertaining pictures and interesting tidbits galore. Everything is explained simply but thoroughly, with bright graphics to hold the attention and information that is easy to relate to and understand.
