Childhood Obesity Could Shorten Children’s Lives

If you notice that I post a lot of articles concerning this topic and am slightly obsessed, you would be correct in assuming that its a topic that I am interested in. I am adamant in my opinion that health care professionals are incorrectly obsessed with baby weight, and obesity starts the moment that mothers are asked to “feed up” their children with either formula or cereals when they in reality have no need of any such thing.

I have fought myself with healthcare “professionals” about my daughters weight, I was told to start feeding her formula at night because she was too “skinny” for their liking at one point. If I hadn’t already breastfed one baby who was just fine, I might have believed them. Luckily know that the milk source didn’t exactly change from baby to baby, I knew that she was just how nature intended. I had one extremely chubby baby boy and one slender little baby girl, both who are now exactly where they should be weight-wise at 3 and 6.

So I am always reading up on the newest studies and findings, and articles like this one;  Kathleen Sebelius: Childhood Obesity Shortening Lives for This Generation, always reaffirm my belief that it is a major crisis we are in with kids obesity rates and we have to start taking it seriously.
